Timezone Records artist Khalif Wailin‘ Walter without a doubt belongs to the generations of Chicago’s Blues Players who continue to carry on the deep tradition while boldly forging new musical paths ahead with his own signature sound. Khalif’s live show mixes heavy doses funk, rock, and soul with innovative classic blues arrangements to create his own unique sound. The live shows involve a lot of highly improvised conversation between the musicians where the audience is allowed to be a voyeur as well as a participant.
Khalif’s guitar work is stinging and singing guitar reminiscent of Blues greats Otis Rush, Albert King, Lonnie brooks, & Albert Collins. And then when he needs to take a more supportive role, his chord work is very sexy and seductive. Khalif’s tempermental vocals are in one moment suave and crooning and in the next moment passionately overpowering. With this CD Khalif decided in his own words „go all in on me” taking on multiple roles to make his vision a reality. The bands set consist of almost all original songs which were written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Khalif himself.
